Recently I arrived in Gothenburg (Sweden) and now I have a room on campus "Olofshöjd". It is very beautiful and there is much to do on the campus. This part of the city and thus also the campus, and are built on hills. When I first entered my house from the street (street level), I had to go downstairs to my room. So I thought I would come in a basement. But my room, on the other side of the building, is towering high above the gardens. Seen from my room, I am on the third floor. A tall tree is standing outside my window. He starts far below me, and ends high above me, sitting in my room. Here the houses are very, very solid. Everywhere, on every street corner, there are name tags, which are often lacking in the Netherlands. Waste is separated here thoroughly, we have bins for paper, plastic, metal, glass and biowaste.

Here some impressions of the room and a view around it.

I am currently working on cleaning my room and decorate it. I learn my way around Gothenburg. Furthermore, there are still many things to arrange during the orientation week, as many entries and of course a public transport season ticket.

In the introduction program, I read there are nice meetings with other exchange students. There is also announced, a big party and a launch market. The first people I have met here, was at home and in the room with the washing machine. The people are very different here, and they have the most diverse backgrounds, which fascinates me, but all are interested in science.
To give an impression of the campus and the surroundings here is a serie of pictures from it..
We start on campus. Our house (for 4 students) is on the map (almost exactly, our door is slightly to the right) marked with a red dot. Turn the card over 180 ° at the following two pictures, taken from a bridge over the E6/E20 amounting Mölndal, at the exit of the E40.
Near the red dot is my room. |
The red-brown flats, of Olofshöjd, are lying on the hill behind. |
My room is right in the most low-lying red building of the Campus, situated, for the five high white flats. For these flats is the PANORAMA Hotel, which is clearly seen on another picture. |

In this building on the third floor from below, is my room. I have hung a small pink patch on my window. (Photo 12 up to 18) To make it easier, to see where I live. If you want to use the above shown map to locate my room, turn the map over to 180 degree. |

Olofshöjd. My room is in the house in front of you, from which the door is visible. Between the discussing neighbors and the bikes. Right besides the door, you see the window of our kitchen. Entered, you go down a stairway, for my room. My room is on the other side, on the third floor and from there you look out over the gardens and parks of one of the major traffic arteries: Södra Vågen. |
